With reference to my Despatch No. 240 of the 5th ultimo, under cover of which I transmitted to you a further Report by Mr. Chadwick, dated the 13th May, on the subject of the Kowloon Waterworks, I have the honour to submit for your consideration the enclosed copy of a letter from the Director of Public Works, with enclosure, relative to some of Mr. Chadwick's suggestions.
2. I shall be glad if you will be good enough to send the enclosure to this Despatch to Mr. Chadwick, and request him to state whether, after consideration of the points mentioned by Mr. Chatham and Messrs. Denison, Ram and Gibbs, he has any objection to the modifications proposed by them.
